Thankful Day 25

Yay! Thankful for the begining of all the wonderful magic that christmas holds.

Thankful Day 24

I love thanksgiving. It's hard to feel bad on this day. This is the second year I have changed up our traditions and it still feels a bit weird it is a good change.

Marcelina and I ran a 5k, she did awesome. Little did I know sister was coming down with a sore throat and would later have a fever. We made it home in time to watch Santa cross over Herald Square and then on to a nice afternoon with yummy food and great family.

My sweet superstar, starting to feel icky.

"I do not recal asking for that kiss"

Apparently he thought the prayer went to long.

My little lady all snuggled up in her blanket nest.

We are thankful and full, hope the same is true for you.

Thankful Day 23

Thankfulness Day's 18,19,20,21,22

aka- wow I keep falling behind but I really am thankful each day.

Thankful for cousins. Growing up (and now) I truly had the best, real cream of the crop. I am excited to see my kids have a fun relationship with theirs. Three are in Florida but when we are together it's is really like no time passed.

Thankful my buddy has one of his best buddies home.

So thankful for a fun race day. We all did our best and went home feeling proud and stong.
Marcelina will be doing her first 5k with me Thursday morning and I am pretty excited to share this with her.

So super duper thankful that 38 years ago a little baby boy was born in a land far far away (ok fine not that far) and that he would grow to be my prince.

Thankful that my lady feels so confident in her new glasses.....

...and that sometimes she is just as crazy as her "weird mommy"

Thankfulness Days 15, 16 & 17

I am so thankful for MOPS. 10 years of great teaching, encouragement, friendships and understanding.

I was watching these leaves hang on even though the wind was doing all it could to get them to let go.

Thankfulness Day 14

(another cell phone shot)

I am thankful for my kids imagination. I am not a very good "player" I use to beat myself up over this, not any more. It is fun to sit back and watch what they come up with. Way cooler than anything I could do.

Thankfulness Day 13

I am so very very thankful that I can celebrate my children's victorys with them. Big or small they are all pretty exciting.  Today my sweet sassy lady was very excited to show me she figured out how to blow a bubble.  She was proud...I was proud.

Thankfulness Day 12

I am so thankful for my Foo Foo bunny head. Daisha Rose, is strong willed and big hearted. She has more fashion sense than I will ever have. She is a wonderful artist who will grow to create beautiful things. She made me an aunt and she will always have a very special place in my heart.

Thankfulness Day 11

Man my brain has been mush and I forgot to post this again. Of course this does not mean I did not spend my day thinking how grateful I am.

We live in an amazing country. It's not perfect but it is amazing. We are free to believe what we want, to disagree with what we want without fear. We have so many freedoms and it is so easy for me to forget not one of them was free. Men and woman have fought since the forming of this country for each and every one. These outstanding people don't think they are outstanding, they just do their jobs because it needs to be done. They sacrifice so much for me......I am humbled.
There needs to be a better way to say how much this means, thank you seems so small.

P.S. To my girlfriends who also share in this huge job by supporting, loving and doing the job you need to do please know you are never ever far from my thoughts or prayers.

Thank you to all of our Hero's

Ruth 2:12

Thankfulness Day 10

oops forgot to post this yesterday.

I am thankful for sisters. They are our best friends and at times worst enemies. They have the power to break our hearts and then mend them up. My girls are learning so much from each other. This relationship is precious and I am so glad they have each other and I am so blessed to have two little sisters of my very own.

Thankfulness Day 9

I love our little Zoo, it's nothing fancy but the time I have spent there with each of my children are sweet memories for me. Most of my favorite pictures of each of them are in this happy little nest exploring animals that they love.

"hi efffant"

So today I am thankful for the Rosamond Gifford Zoo and all the wonderful memories it holds for me.

It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.

Thankfulness Day 8

Look what I had in my mailbox today?

I am so thankful for all the little people in my life, not only do they all come with fantastic parents whom I am so blessed to call friends they each make me so happy each time I get time with them. Little people are amazing, so full of ideas and energy. So ready to share their big thoughts if you take the time to listen.

Today I got mail from two tiny people that make my heart skip
Landon and Carter, Mrs Heather loves you!

Thanksgiving will draw our hearts out to God and keep us engaged with Him; it will take our attention from ourselves and give the Spirit room in our hearts.

Thankfulness Day 6

Just a cell phone shot today but this moment was just to perfect.

I love my church. We all fit so well. I can always count on Sunday to be a great day and really the people who fill this building on a sunday are there in a moments notice when needed no matter what the day is. So I am thankful to have found such a special place and such special people to call friends.

Thankfulness Day 5

My messy writing says it all! Dan and I got a date last night thanks to the amazing CORE student ministry at North Syracuse Baptist Church.

It is such a  treat when I get Dan all to myself, I am ridiculously in love with this man that I get to call husband. Now I don't say that to sound cheesy or like we have it all together, we don't.  Even in the everyday messes of life I adore this man, he works hard, he makes me laugh even if I don't want to, he knows how to give me space or step in and take control. He still kisses me like we are newlyweds and I still get weak in the knees.  Let's not even get me started on the kind of dad he is, we will all need a bottle of wine to go with the abundance of cheese ;o)

So last night we where given 4 1/2 hours to just be together and I am very thankful.
p.s the kids where thankful for such a fun night!

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.

Thankkfulnes Day 4

I am thankful for the old soul that made me a mom.

It can be hard to express how much this lady means to me. She was the beginning of an amazing journey. Each season brings new joys and new tears. I struggle sometimes with worry, am I giving her what she needs. Am I too hard on her, not hard enough? Do I listen when it's most important, am I showing her how to trust God?  She wants to make everyone happy and sometimes that means she has allowed herself to be hurt, so right now we are struggling to pray for those who hurt us and to know it's ok to choose to not be friends with someone who is hurting you. This is tricky for her and I worry sometimes, but I know He loves her even more than me and He is so good and picking up our slack.

Difficulties are opportunities to better things; they are stepping stones to greater experience. Perhaps someday you will be thankful for some temporary failure in a particular direction. When one door closes, another always opens.

Day Three of Thankfulness

Yes, I am thankful for a morning at Target.

Most Targets have Starbucks and well that is just reason enough for me to be thankful. Need to add this is not my red cup. I will keep my rule of no red cup until after Thanksgiving. So I grabbed my friends for the shot because she has no Thanksgiving values. *snicker*

I am thankful that on this Target trip with our friends Carter was very excited to show me this toy
"look heather!"
He said my name and I totally melted.

Gratitude, like faith, is a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it grows, and the more power you have to use it on your behalf. If you do not practice gratefulness, its benefaction will go unnoticed, and your capacity to draw on its gifts will be diminished. To be grateful is to find blessings in everything, This is the most powerful attitude to adopt, for there are blessings in everything.

30 Days of Thankfulness

Thanks to a friend and her great idea I will spend the next 30 days streaching myself to photograph what I am thankful for.
We live in a world where there is just so much bad screaming at us while the blessings sit faithfull and quiet just waiting to be seen.

Since we are on the second day of November I am adding two pictures.

I am thankful for where we live. Upstate NY is just so perfect for me. I love seasons, I love the colors of fall, winter, spring and summer. Sometimes these seasons meld in unexpected ways but it just keeps us in the practice of rolling with the punches.

I am so thankful for a tiny man. My wild thing keeps me moving all day, busy with trains, running, dancing adn climbing.  He loves to read, he adores Mickey and Goofy. Like his sisters he is a world class snuggler and sleeps best when he has contact with mommy or daddy. I love this boy of ours and am so thankful everyday I get to be his mom.

If you are up for it I would love to see others take this on. Please link up in the comments so I can check out what you are thankful for.
